Give "Confessions" A Shout Out ...

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

If you've read "Confessions of A Prep School Mommy Handler" and simply LOVED it (or even just enjoyed it), please take a minute to suggest it to your friends, family, co-workers, and also to go to Amazon, or Barnes and Noble, or your favorite independent bookstore web site and write a nice review. It helps offset the small number of core reviewers out there who love to do nothing more than spend their idle time ripping authors' books to shreds, folks who sum up years of work and 300 pages in a hateful sentence or harsh mischaracterization. It's funny (and sad) how a few people are missing the book's core messages: Self-esteem, self-worth, standing up for oneself in work and life, and our society's growing fascination with those who have more: More money, more power, more beauty. And why?

I spoke out in writing this book, and I urge you to do the same.

Thanks, in advance, for your support. (That sounds very "Bartels & James," doesn't it?)

I'm a librarian in a community that is filled with Lily Pulitzer pink! Just came home from work and devoured Confessions in one sitting. Guess what I'll be recommending to all my patrons this weekend!!! Fabulous. Just fabulous. I am writing what you said about those of us in nonprofits on an index card and keeping it in my wallet. Maybe someday I too will lay down on my kitchen floor and start writing my story. You are an inspiration.
